Web Sites I Maintain

That's what I do, I make Web sites (here is my portfolio page). Not real fancy ones. I specialize in content and organization, as well as staff and project managment in large projects. Lately I lean more toward project management. Here are some of my sites. I also knit a lot. I have a knitting portfolio in progress. And a personal blog with thoughts on knitting on it. If you would like to visit the blog, contact me so I can verify that you won't be reporting it to others, and I will send you the URL.

Note that because I designed a web site does not mean I own or am responsible for its content. The people who paid me own the content.

Bland Facts about Me

Here is a collection of random facts, if you wanna read them. I don't mind if you don't. I only do this because my friends ask me to.

wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I live in Texas--showed up for New Year's Day 1997. I was born in Florida. Spent 16 years in Illinois. East-central Illinois. Corn, soy beans, swimming pools, no movie stars. As for Texas, visit any time, well, except summer. Too hot.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)My favorite color is purple.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I am a Pisces. A rapidly aging Pisces, minus one gall bladder. INFP. OK, borderline on the "I."
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I was a linguistics major. Minored in Japanese. Go Gators and Illini.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I volunteer a lot.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I enjoy knitting, perhaps to excess. Check out my fine knitting pages.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes) I also do xeriscape gardening, reading, tarot, quilting, needlepoint, and listening to men (and the occasional womyn) play guitar. Those are my bland hobbies. The rest is up to your imagination.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I am list owner for LOTS of email lists, mostly for women. It is a GREAT way to make like-minded friends!
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I have two sons with exotic Irish names, Kynan (91) and Declan (93). They like World of Warcraft and that ilk, all those Japanese cartoons on television (my current fave is Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo), Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, Neopets, chickens, tarantulas and Lego. Kynan plays tuba in the high school band and is now "into" lacrosse (ew, expensive). Declan likes computer games, especially Star Wars Galaxies. He is a purple wookie. He also does percussion in the middle school band.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)My ex husband, Rory, is from Dublin, Ireland and now is in exotic North Carolina with his physically fit wife. He does not like to be called a "computer guru." Well, neither do I. I will miss going to Ireland. But Rory is a lot happier without me. And well, right now, I am much happier myself.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I share my home with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Gwynneth, a pug named Scrunchy, who barks too much, one (formerly two) very loud but happy parakeet (pictured in the link above), a 55-gallon aquarium with happy fish, Chi Chi the tarantula, a very normal tabby cat, and one guitarist.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I own a new garnet colored Subaru Forester. It was chosen because it has 4-wheel drive, is fun to drive, and holds two tuba cases, in an emergency.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I actually get paid to make web pages. I love that part of work, really I do. Here are some photos of me enjoying my work. In some pictures I am enjoying it A LOT.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)My brother was quoted in Rolling Stone Magazine AND National Geographic. My former husband's ancestral house in Dublin was in Ireland of the Welcommes.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)My sister lives in the same town as I do with her kitties. My brother lives in San Jose.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)My step-sister owns TWO pugs. She's in North Carolina, near my dad.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I collect items with pansies on them and Longaberger baskets. I have no idea why I would do this.
wpeC4.gif (1039 bytes)I am getting by now. I am glad to have Kynan, Declan and Jeff.

 Ramblings

What are you doing reading this far down the page? Well, if you want to, then, you can read my ramblings--too short to be a blog! Oh but I have a blog but I am scared to link to it here, thanks to people who read it and call others to complain about it. So email me if you want to read it and can grasp the concept of "free speech."

1. August 2001: Supposedly my singing group will be the opener for the Live Oak Coffeehouse in September. This is complicated by the fact that Bill has an infected throat and can't sing for a few weeks. Well, I missed that. I was on a plane to Chicago on September 11. Didn't get home until the day AFTER coffeehouse.

2. August 2001: I am traveling so much that my head is spinning these days. I even went to Oklahoma. I even get to work in the LLLI office some. All work, no play. Naturally. I lie. Hi Dave.

3. February 2002: 2002 is The Year of Us. I wish I knew what that meant.

4. May 2002: Nervous breakdowns suck. Therapy rocks.

5. October 2002: Holy cow, I am a single parent. Hey, I can date!

6. February 2003: What in the world. It's only been 19 years since I was happy. It is nice to be happy. I'd burst into song, but I won't.

7. May 2003: Yeah yeah yeah. Time marches on, but at least it's to a peppy beat. Friends of Jeffrye: I am not as weird as I type.

8. January 2004: What's so funny about peace, love and understanding? Sorry, world's most cynical liberal hits depressing times in the Real World.

9. January 2005. I am self sufficient at last. And I have more fun work to do--last year sure had its ups and downs.

10. October 2005: Crap, high school is a busy, busy thing. Band parenting is a busy, busy thing.

11. February 2006: Well, that self sufficient thing didn't last long. If you have any interesting job leads, let me know! I am smart, a quick learner, good with collaborative work, and fun! Or drop by the yarn shop and let me teach you to knit! I love to do that.
