Handy Knitting and Yarn Links
I
am very grateful to the sources of inspiration and the resources
I have for the knitting I've been doing. Please patronize the
merchants below and visit the other sites to see what you can
learn from them!
Yarn
and Patterns on the Internet
- Berroco:
a yarn
and pattern company with lots of good free stuff on their site, and
many nice yarns to look at. They also have a nice online newsletter.
- Edie
Eckman: author,
teacher and colleague in my other work! She has taught so many
to knit, including my older son!
- Heartstrings:
site of a very nice knitter with good taste and nice links
- Interweave Press: publishers of many knitting books and a great knitting
magagine, I like that they put all the corrections and errata up for
readers' reference.
-
- Knitpicks: Inexpensive and creative yarns. Their catalog is fun,
too.
- Knitting Universe: Home
of Kintter's Magazine, a wonderful resource.
- Knitty:
fun online knitting resource
- Lorna's
Laces:
ooh-wee that Lorna, she has a mind-boggling array of colors, drool drool,
and "Heaven" yarn.
- Noro:
The World of Nature: Japanese site of one of my favorite yarn lines. All designed by one
man, Mr. Eisaku Noro!
- Sock Knitters Site: web site of resources from the socknitters email
list. A bit primitive, but there is a lot here!
- Straw.com:
home of Crystal Palace Yarns
Local
Resources
If
you are in greater Austin, Texas, please check out the local yarn
stores! If you are anywhere else, please check YOUR local yarn
store, because if you don't shop there, they might not stick
around to answer your questions and be your neighborly resource.
- Bluebonnet
Yarn Shoppe: "My" local yarn shop, in nearby Cedar
Park. Come by and you may very well see me there! I teach classes
there, sell my patterns there, and do their website.
- Hill
Country Weavers: another wonderful Austin yarn resource,
for those of you in the more southern sections.
